ABOUT ME AND MY WORK

I am a qualified and Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the BACP Integrative approach, believing 'one size does NOT fit all'. This approach gives me a variety of skills and ideas based on theory from different schools of thought, therefore allowing me to reach and help more people. I trained in Level A & B Psychometrics at the University of Cambridge, and as a Coach and Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, with Tranceforming.

Whilst there are definite differences between Counselling/Psychotherapy and Coaching, and there are professional ethics and boundaries I abide by, where certain issues would 'fit' better in one or the other, I also believe that the two have similarities in enabling and empowering people to make change. I don't use NLP solely but incorporate it into my work if deemed useful and I often use psychometrics and personality profiling in both Coaching and Counselling.

There are lots of counsellors and coaches practising and we all work differently which is the beauty of this field.  I believe the relationship is the most important thing and finding the right person for you to work with, the person that will most empower you or your business to make the important changes in your life is of utmost importance.

I have experience working in a variety of settings such as the NHS, Primary Care, GP surgeries, Police, Probation, Private Practice and Corporate locations. I have worked with a variety of issues such as relationship difficulties, career crossroads or problems, confidence, self esteem, depression, anxiety and have extensive experience of working with Addictions.

I work with individuals and couples and I undertake work for EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) companies, Family Lawyers and people covered by private insurance. I also go into companies and provide private in-house EAP Counselling services tailored to their needs and am a member of the EAP Professionals Association.

I also work for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women as a business mentor.

I am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and registered with UKRCP, BACP Coaching, where I abide by their code of ethics and practice. I am continuously undertaking personal and professional development to better understand myself and others.

I also hold FAETC stage 1 (Further Adult  Education Teacher's Certificate) and Level 3 Certificate in online Counselling.

I am qualified to work face to face, e-mail, live msn sessions, Skype or telephone consultation depending on clients preference, availability or locality, including clients based abroad.
