ABOUT ME AND MY WORK
I am a qualified and Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the BACP, Integrative approach, believing 'one size does NOT fit all'. This approach gives me a variety of skills and ideas based on theory from different schools of thought, therefore allowing me to reach and help more people. I am also Accredited with the BPS Level A and B Psychometrics having trained at the University of Cambridge and a Coach and Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, personally licensed by Richard Bandler, creator of the field.
Whilst there are definite differences between Counselling/Psychotherapy and Coaching, and there are professional ethics and boundaries I abide by, where certain issues would 'fit' better in one or the other, I also believe that the two have some similarities in enabling and empowering people to make change. I don't use NLP solely but incorporate it into my work if deemed useful.
There are lots of counsellors and coaches practicing and we all work differently which is the beauty of this field. I believe the relationship is the most important thing and finding the right person for you to work with, the person that will most empower you and your business to make the important changes is of utmost importance.
As well as having my own private practices in Liverpool Street, London and Cambridgeshire, I work in Adult Treatment Services within Primary Care, using brief intervention techniques for a specialist drug and alcohol agency.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and registered with UKRC, the Association for Coaches, The BPS (Britsh Psychological Society), The Society of NLP as well as a member of The ANLP (The Association of NLP) where I abide by their code of ethics and practice. I am continuously undertaking personal and professional development to better understand myself and others.
I also hold FAETC stage 1 (Further Adult Education Teacher's Certificate), and Level 3 Certificate in online Counselling.
I am qualified to work face to face, e-mail, live msn sessions or telephone consultation depending on clients preference, availability or locality, including clients based abroad.
